US President Joe Biden appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Israel has every right and responsibility to protect its citizens from terrorism and has evidence that it is necessary to do so in accordance with the laws of international humanitarian organizations that prioritize the protection of civilians.

This was stated by the White House reporting on the first conversation since Israel entered Gaza, including President Biden and Prime Minister Netanyahu, reports ANSA.

The two leaders also discussed efforts to find and secure the release of more than 200 hostages kidnapped by Hamas during the October 7 attack and taken to Gaza. The hostages are mostly Israeli civilians.
