Biden warns Netanyahu: There is no military operation in Rafah without

US President Joe Biden has again warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to launch a military operation in Rafah without a "credible and workable plan" to protect civilians. Biden made US opposition clear in a phone call with Netanyahu.

The Democratic president "reiterated his view that a military operation should not proceed without a credible and workable plan that will guarantee the safety and support of civilians in Rafah," the statement said.

This is the second time in less than a week that Biden has warned Netanyahu about moving into the southern Gaza Strip without a plan to ensure the safety of the roughly 1 million people sheltering there.

They also spoke about ongoing hostage negotiations, and Biden pledged to continue working around the clock to help free the hostages, who have spent 132 days in Hamas captivity.
