The escape of two Albanians from prison, Romeo Qosja and Lefter Toçi, both 41 years old, has alarmed Greek authorities since the first days of 2025.
They were held in the Kassavetia Agricultural Prisons, from where they escaped on Thursday evening (January 2, 2025).
According to information, the Greek police (EL.AS) are also investigating in Western Attica for their capture, and there are even reports from citizens that they have seen them.
The operation to find them is being carried out by special police teams. As the same sources report, the two fugitives may be armed and are believed to be together.
The two Albanians have been sentenced to many years in prison for a series of robberies, arson and membership in a criminal organization with the aim of committing murders.
The two prisoners, both 41 years old, had been held since 2019 in the Agricultural Prisons, in an area without a security fence, due to good behavior, while their room was only checked a few times a day by staff.
The escapees had taken five days off in 2024 and appear to have used their return from their last leave a few days earlier to plan and execute the escape.
Their disappearance, which was discovered at 9:00 PM on Thursday, caused the immediate mobilization of the police, as the two fugitives are considered dangerous due to their serious criminal past, while the search to find them is ongoing.
