Saudi Arabia has officially resumed operations on its main East-West oil pipeline, paving the way for the resumption of exports from the Red Sea port of Yanbu.
According to the Reuters news agency , which refers to three sources familiar with the matter, the oil leak has started at a low rate, while a full restoration of loadings is expected.
The strategic pipeline was forced to shut down after drone attacks hit energy infrastructure, disrupting crude oil loading at the Yanbu terminal for several days and adding to tensions in international energy markets.
The restart of this major artery is expected to significantly ease global supply and normalize the transportation of oil from production fields to western seaports.
