The chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration in North Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, has said that without reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia, there will be no calm and peaceful Balkans.

"All our strategic partners are interested in the Balkans being calm and in lasting peace, who have also helped us so that the Balkans enter the permanent and historical flow to establish peace and the future. So that we don't have a calm Balkans, but troubled and on fire, it is only the Kremlin," said Ahmeti.

He said that North Macedonia, as a member of NATO, wants to become part of the EU and wants to have a clean Balkans.

"And in order to reach a clean Balkan, we need reconciliation. Do you know how the process of reconciliation between France, Germany and Italy began? The initiative was taken by the coal and steel corporations, this is where it started, but the substance was not to unite the corporations, but the substance was reconciliation. Without reconciliation, any further agreement to be made is unsustainable, destined for failure. Albanians and Serbs must agree, or decide whether they will fight", said Ahmeti for RTK.

He said that Albanians should be smart in this period and trust the international factor. 

"We must be smart enough to give space to the old man. In our case, the old men are Washington, Brussels and NATO, because the US and NATO, without the decision of the Security Council, have lined up on our side and bombed Serbia. I have never been disappointed in 23 years by the word given by Washington, Brussels and NATO and I believe you. Is there a difference in shades of confidence between Brussels and Washington? Of course there is, because 27 countries decide in Brussels, and Washington decides in Washington", said Ahmeti.
