NASA has confirmed that there are five asteroids headed our way this week, one of which is estimated to be the size of a football stadium.

However, there is no need to panic!

While NASA's Asteroid Watch department is tracking the space rocks, they don't believe any of them will come into contact with Earth.

The next five asteroids approaching Earth are expected to pass the entire planet between January 30 and February 2, 2024.

The first, on January 30, is called 2007 EG and is about the size of an airplane and will be the furthest of the five asteroids from Earth by 6 million kilometers.

The second is about the size of a house, called 2024 BY, and will fly by at 2.5 million km on February 1.

The third asteroid approaching again is the size of an airplane and is called 2003 BM4 and will pass 3.2 million kilometers near Earth on the same day as 2024 BY.

The giant of the asteroid group, 2008 OS7 is the size of a football stadium and will fly by on February 2, 2.7 million kilometers from Earth.

The last asteroid, called 2024 BP1, will also fly by on February 2 and is estimated to be about the size of an airplane, but will pass by Earth at a distance of about 3 million kilometers.
