NATO Admiral: What will happen if Russia blows up the nuclear plant in Ukraine
Admiral Rob Bauer

The head of NATO's military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, says that in the event of an explosion at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the whole world will be affected.

Bauer said that the catastrophe, if it happens, will not only affect military operations in Ukraine, but will affect the whole world, since such an event would have consequences for the entire European continent.

"If this happens, it is more than a military problem for Ukraine. It's a problem for the whole world," said Bauer.

He said such an event would be a medical and ecological disaster that extends beyond NATO.

However, Bauer said it is unlikely that such a thing will happen, as Russia would lose the support they have in the world.

In recent days, due to the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army and after the explosion of the dam on the Dinipro River, there have been rumors that Russia could provoke a nuclear incident at the Zaporizhia thermonuclear power plant, which is also the largest in Europe.

Some unconfirmed reports on social networks say that a large number of Russian soldiers have begun to evacuate from villages near Zaporizhia, being accommodated near Crimea.
