Sunak worried about the situation in North Kosovo: There may be a special envoy
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

The Prime Minister of Great Britain, Rishi Sunak, said that he sees with concern the tense situation between Kosovo and Serbia, during a question-and-answer session in the British Parliament.

Sunak was asked how he sees the failure of the European Union to prevent the tense situation in the North of Kosovo, and whether his country will join the "EUFOR" mission.

"I am worried about the situation in the North of Kosovo. The Foreign Secretary has told the Prime Ministers of Kosovo and Serbia that they have a responsibility to reduce tensions", Sunak said.

He said that the United Kingdom sees Europe's peacekeeping mission as "vital".

Asked if the United Kingdom would send a special emissary to reduce tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, Sunak said his country would be open to the idea at a time when it could be useful.

Regarding the situation of illegal immigrants, Sunak said he stands by his government's plan to send all asylum seekers arriving by boat to the UK to Rwanda.
