Two Albanians have been sentenced to 20 months in prison after they were caught in April of this year cultivating cannabis in a residence in Bangor, Wales.
It is about the 31-year-old Indrit Balliu and the 32-year-old Fatjon Tarja were sentenced to 20 years in prison each, a decision that was given by the Caernarfon court today.
The British media write that the two Albanians were in the apartment converted into a cannabis farm during the police action on April 27, and tried to escape by going out on the terrace, but ended up being surrounded by many police forces.
A total of 700 cannabis roots were found in the apartment, which according to experts, if they had been fully cultivated, would have produced 50 kilograms of drugs worth 460,000 pounds.
Prosecutors argued that the two Albanians had entered the UK illegally and had knowingly chosen to cultivate cannabis. Balliu and Tarja had not been victims of criminal groups, and therefore did not benefit from mitigating circumstances.
