A poll released on Monday shows that people in the United States and Britain have the lowest level of trust in their governments, compared to other countries in the group of seven most developed countries in the world.

According to the organization 'Gallup', in 2022, 31 percent of adults in the United States had confidence in their government, while in Britain this figure was at the level of 33 percent.

Germany tops the list of the seven most developed countries in the world, with 61 percent of its residents expressing support for their government.

The positions of the United States and Britain were very different in 2022 compared to 2006, Gallup said.

In the same poll in 2006, the United States topped the list, with 56 percent of respondents saying yes to the question of whether they trusted their government. For Britain, at that time this figure was 49 percent.

Germany was last in the 2006 survey. Between 2006 and 2022, the remaining G7 members Japan, Italy, France and Canada saw an improvement in their citizens' level of trust in government.

The 2022 figure is not an extreme case for the United States. Gallup data shows only one year other than 2006 in which trust in government among American adults reached 50 percent in 2009 and 46 percent in 2020.

American citizens' trust in the United States government has declined in recent years, including 31 percent in 2018, 30 percent in 2016, and 29 percent in 2013.
