Pope Francis has recently reacted to the burning of the Koran in Sweden. Foreign media reports that the Pope claimed to be "outraged" by the incident.
"I am outraged by such actions. Any book that is considered sacred by its people should be respected out of respect for those who believe in it. Freedom of expression should never be used as an excuse to offend others,"- said the Pope.
The burning of the Koran on Eid was the first incident of this nature in Stockholm in recent months.
Police in the Swedish capital allowed the demonstration to continue, despite similar actions being banned in February.
Swedish courts had ruled that police had no right to refuse permission to burn the Koran, an incident that sparked protests in Iran and Iraq.
