The chairman of AKR, Behgjet Pacolli, has sent an open letter to the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. Pacolli in this letter criticized Kurti for the governance, which according to him, is leading Kosovo towards isolation.
"Kosovo was built with hard work and sacrifices. It is the most successful post-war state-building project, a project that was realized by combining national will and international support from our American and European allies and partners. In this sense, I believe that your policy is wrong and that it leads to the greatest isolation and the most pronounced lack of international support since the beginning of the peaceful resistance led by President Rugova in the late 80s and the suppression of the autonomy of Kosovo and the establishment of apartheid rule in Belgrade. This peaceful and military movement, now culminating with the Kosovo Liberation Army, achieved its successes precisely because it was in cohesion with the USA and European partners", wrote Pacolli on Facebook.
The head of AKR said that Kurti was elected with a historic result for a political party in Kosovo, but, according to him, your political journey is built on the principle of exclusion and not cooperation.
"Today there is a need for cohesion and cooperation between all political groups and civil society, to get out of international isolation and the irrational internal illusion that is harming Kosovo. But you did not make it possible, you built barriers to cooperation and labeled all those who contributed to Kosovo's path to freedom, independence and state building as criminals and corrupt without any facts. You rejected every call and willingness to cooperate on this labeling that resembles popular street trials that have no place in our democracy," he added.
According to Pacolli, Kurti's treatment of the opposition and anyone who disagrees with his political beliefs has been rejected and ignored, often mocked and attacked, reports Klankosova.tv.
"I do not expect you to reflect and take the direction of cooperation and political rationality in the interest of all the citizens of our Republic, but I regret that we have arrived as a new state and a society in this state where polarization has reached the disturbing degree that it is painful that we cannot do more together as a state for the vital interests of Kosovo. The responsibility for this direction of the country always lies with the majority and its leader, in this case Prime Minister Kurti".
He even said that Kurti rejected several delegations for the recognition of Kosovo's citizenship, which he had arranged himself.
"In one case I brought a delegation from a country that had decided to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, they met with you and the president of the Republic, but the diplomacy to finalize the recognition of Kosovo was missing and no action was taken from your government to finalize it. Another case was when two countries, after my visits there, recognized the Kosovo passport as the first step towards recognizing Kosovo and paved the way for it. You accepted the letters of the two presidents of the countries in question, but for your political anger you ignored them and no step was taken by your government to formalize diplomatic recognition and cooperation," he said.
According to Pacolli, Kosovo has been brought to a state of isolation, polarization and authoritarian intimidation, due to his stubbornness and lack of political and pragmatic vision. He emphasized that he is ready to support the government if it follows the agenda in the interest of the country.
