New details have been revealed about the tragic case in Greece, regarding the discovery of the decomposed body of 38-year-old British woman Elisabeth Ross inside a suitcase.
According to Greek media outlet Protothema, the victim's phone was used by third parties to camouflage the incident and create the belief that the young woman was still alive.
Also, the building where the victim was found is now being considered as the place where the crime may have occurred.
"The phone was being used. Text messages were even being sent, apparently with the intention of making people believe she was still alive. We are treating the building as a crime scene," a Greek police officer told the newspaper.
38-year-old Elisabeth Ross, originally from Scotland, had traveled to Europe from the United States on June 29, via Cyprus, and then went to Athens, where she was staying with friends.
She was last seen alive on July 15, shortly before the estimated time of the crime.
The body was found inside a suitcase on July 18 in an abandoned building in Kypseli. The suitcase was found by a homeless man, who notified the authorities.
The man was in the area looking for a place to take shelter, but he smelled a strong, unpleasant odor. So, following the scent, he found the suitcase, from which a human leg was visible. After that, he immediately notified the police.
The body was wrapped in a bag and forced into the suitcase, but no visible wounds or signs of violence were found.
