Eight people have been injured after a man began "setting people on fire" at a shopping mall in Boulder, Colorado, officials say.

The FBI says the "suspected act of terrorism" occurred during a peaceful march in support of the Israeli hostages, which takes place every week.

The suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, is an Egyptian citizen whose visa expired in 2023, US media reported.

Officials added that Soliman shouted "Free Palestine" as he threw Molotov cocktails and used an improvised flamethrower at demonstrators. He is now in custody.

Video footage shows people trying to help the injured.

Media reported that one of the people injured in the attack is a Holocaust survivor.

Police have issued a statement, saying they have identified eight victims, ranging in age from 52 to 88.

Israel's Foreign Minister calls the incident a "horrific anti-Semitic terrorist attack targeting Jews"
