"Terrorist attack" - 16 killed and over 130 missing, after an attack

At least 16 people were killed and over 130 injured yesterday when several Russian drones hit a shopping mall in central Ukraine, as President Volodymyr Zelensky promised a response to what he called an "act of barbarity".

Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said 22 children were among those injured in the daytime attack in the city of Kryvyi Rih.

In an update early Saturday, Hanzha said nine people were initially considered missing, including two children, and that rescue teams were continuing to clear the rubble of the shopping mall.

Zelenskiy called the attack "absolutely cynical and disgusting," saying a second Russian drone hit the shopping mall half an hour after the first, in what he called a deliberate attempt to target emergency services.

"Such attacks are nothing but terrorist acts. We will definitely respond," he said.

Meanwhile, two more people have been killed in the latest attacks carried out by Russia on Ukrainian territory.

Local authorities said one person was killed in a fire at a warehouse in Kiev following an alarm about a ballistic missile, while another was killed in a drone strike in Zaporizhzhia in the early hours of Saturday.
