American Ambassador Yuri Kim also spoke in "Opinion" about the relationship with the Democratic Party. She said that " for us, as an institution, for me as a representative of the United States and the President, I meet with people who are recognized by the law", referring to the meetings with Enkelejd Alibeaj.

The ambassador also states that at no time will it be possible for her or any official of the United States to meet with anyone determined by the Secretary of State for major corruption or for undermining democracy, referring to this like Sali Berisha.

Blendi Fevziu: Also, I want to ask you about your relationship with the Democratic Party. You always support one side, the Democratic Party in Parliament, and with the support of Parliament, and on the other side is the Democratic Party, let's say, led by Sali Berisha. The problem is that you support this group in Parliament. But this group seems to be weak in grassroots support, and on the other hand, the group that has the most grassroots support, they are not supported by you.

Ambassador Kim: It's not a popularity contest for us. For us it is about the rule of law. We met with Mr. Alibeaj in his position as chairman of the parliamentary group and as acting chairman of the Democratic Party. I think it is very important to be clear about the rule of law. You can't just side with whoever has the most power. It would be illegal.

Ambassador Kim: I think this is debatable but, however, I understand what you mean. For us, as an institution, for me as a representative of the United States and the President, I meet with people who are known by law. I will continue to do this. I can tell you that at no time will it be possible for me or any official of the United States to meet with anyone who has been designated by the Secretary of State for grand corruption or for undermining democracy. This will not happen.

Blendi Fevziu: I am not talking about Mr. Berisha, but also about other people who are supporters and are on his side of the Democratic Party. Are you related to these people?

Ambassador Kim: We talk to different people.
