Once known as the city of flowers, Elbasan has in recent years turned into the city of mothers and widows dressed in black, where the shadow of crime roams freely in the city. The opposition has often accused that the empowerment and dominance of the gangs in Elbasan comes because they have found political support and for this they accuse Taulant Balla, the deputy of the area and until recently the leader of the SP for the District.

Balla was one of the most voted by the SP in the elections of April 25, 2021 and the opposition claims that he got the votes thanks to the support from crime. It is also worth noting the fact that 4 days before the elections in Elbasan, Pjerin Xhuvani was killed, where there were many names filed by the Police in the group that clashed with the "DP vote protection group".

But, just a short time after the elections, Rama decided to move Taulant Balla as political leader of the district from Elbasan to Fier.
However, sources indicate that Balla is also following the same methodology in Fier. This can be seen from the election of Ergest Krakull at the head of the SP branch of Lushnja.

Krakulli is the nephew of businessman Edmond Bego, sentenced in Italy to 11 years in prison for heroin and cocaine trafficking. Bego has often been talked about in the media and has been denounced by the opposition for his friendship and trips with Taulant Balla, who is the political leader of the SP for the Fier District.

The source informs that the placement of Ergest Krakull at the head of the SP of Lushnja has been accompanied by strong debates, as it is confirmed that it was Balla who vetoed his "appointment" at the head of the SP of Lushnja.
Balla is justified by the fact that while the SP has accepted Krakull once when it ran 16th on the list for the elections of April 25 in the Fier District, then it must accept it now.

A year ago, Krakulli managed to get 1,673 votes on April 25, 2021, but sources indicate that his "power" in the PS of Lushnja has increased after the appointment of Balla as district leader. Ergest Krakulli has been at the head of the SP campaign in Lushnja for the local partial elections on March 6.

Another important fact worth mentioning is that Ergest Krakulli has not yet disclosed his CV, for which there are strong doubts about his education. In the CV submitted to the CEC, he only writes that he has completed higher education and that he has been working in the Municipality of Lushnja since 2015.

Siç duket, Taulant Balla, Taulant Balla nuk i shkëput dot lidhjet me krimin, ku vendos baxhanakun e një trafikanti të njohur në krye të degës së PS-së së Lushnjës.
