Yesterday, three employees of the Ostren administrative unit and the Bulqiza municipality were arrested by the police of Dibra , after providing citizens with false documents.
Among the arrested officials is the brother of the mayor of Bulqiza, Festime Mjeshtri .
Footage of the arrest by the police of the brother of the mayor of Bulqiza, Luan Mjeshtri:
Luan Mjeshtri, the administrator of the Ostren Administrative Unit and the brother of the mayor of Bulqiza, Festime Mjeshtri, is one of those arrested for abuse of office as part of the group that sold fake certificates of Bulgarian origin in Ostren, Bulqiza. The certificate was sold for 100,000 lek (old).
It seems that the municipality of Bulqiza has turned into a ' family nursery ', where the mayor, Festime Mjeshtri, employs her family members.
Nepotism in Albania has been extended to public administration and local government. An " Inside Story " investigation revealed that the family members of the mayor of Kamza, Rakip Suli, who has recently been investigated by SPAK, have served in the administration.
His wife at the Cadastre Agency, while one of the sons, a high-level specialist at the Albanian Electricity Corporation. The other son served in the important Directorate of Prevention of Money Laundering.
Another case where an official employs more than one family member is that of the mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli. His daughter worked at the Financial Supervision Authority. Meanwhile, the son, near the Agency of Central Purchases.
The wife of the mayor of Elbasan, Gledian Llatja , Solora Jaupaj serves in a very important position as the cabinet director of the Ministry of Agriculture headed by Anila Denaj.
The wife of the Mayor of Lezha, Pjerin Ndreu , is an Audit specialist at the Ministry of the Interior.
The wife of the former mayor of Librazhd, Kastriot Gurra , is found near the National Business Center. In the Albanian constitution, there is no direct reference to the nepotism law.
However, the Albanian constitution contains provisions and fundamental values that protect equality, justice and human rights.
In order to combat unfair practices such as nepotism, Albania has drafted laws and regulations aimed at preventing the favoring of family members in employment processes in public institutions and in other decision-making.
These laws are part of efforts to ensure equality and meritocracy in the country.
However, it is important to note that the constitution and laws of Albania have defined the principles of equality and justice that must be respected in every aspect of the country's social and political life.
But it seems that these principles do not work for the mayor of Bulqiza, who appoints the unit administrator brother, the latter makes you a Bulgarian passport himself for 100 thousand lek.
