The Special Prosecutor's Office announced this Wednesday that it submitted to the special court the request for trial against the mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari, on the charge of forging seals, stamps or forms.

The file in the charge of the mayor is related to the decriminalization form that he has filled out within the law on the integrity of elected officials and central and local officials.

But what exactly has Kreshnik Hajdari done, which, according to the accusation, risks up to five years in prison? According to the SPAK, from the acts administered, the evidence received via mail order from the Greek authorities of Justice, it results that the citizen Kreshnik Hajdari was convicted in 1999 by the final decision of the court of Ioannina, with the re-education measure of reprimand because he crossed the border from the mountain, as over 60 percent of Albanians did at that time.

This is the case of Kreshnik Hajdari, a leader of a modest municipality, who, in addition to being able to leave office if found guilty, also risks prison. Facing this case is that of the special prosecutor, Klodjan Braho, and that of the special judge, Irena Gjoka.

Braho's case, according to the report submitted to SPAK against him, is several times more serious than Kreshnik Hajdari. The Special Prosecutor, like Hajdari, allegedly hid a trip to Greece from the declaration forms.

Unlike Hajdari, who fled from the mountain, Klodjan Braho crossed by vehicle on February 24, 2012 at the border point of Kakavija and completely legally. But, according to a report filed in SPAK, Klodjan Braho did not declare this trip to Greece in the vetting forms. Why? The reason is probably related to the suspicions raised in the report that the prosecutor was in the inappropriate company of Ervis Gavelli, convicted from Italy with significant criminal records, accused, investigated and convicted for drug trafficking and money laundering, subject to OFL in March 2020 where the file was referred to SPAK. Here, according to the SPAK report, it is suspected that Klodjan Braho intervened to unlock the assets of his two early friends.

Special judge Irena Gjoka, on the other hand, has hidden from the vetting commissions her dismissal for incapacity with a decision of the High Council of Justice of February 8, 1996.

If, before passing the vetting, Klodjan Braho and Irena Gjoka would have declared these details, today the prosecutor and the special judge would probably be part of the contingent of prosecutors and judges who left the system, not only for unjustified wealth, but also for dark connections with the world of crime and for incompetence in the exercise of duty.

So that the new justice does not become a facade of the old and amorphous justice, the cases of Klodjan Braho and Irena Gjoka should be the first to be investigated. SPAK and GJKKO must first clean up their ranks, then hunt down second-rate or third-rate officials whose only fault is emigrating as pilgrims to Greece during Albania's difficult years.
