If Ilir Meta invites Albanians to protest against government corruption from the luxurious neighborhoods of London, Sali Berisha does it by asking them to support him to come to power once again to do what he did not do in 13 years at the head of the country .
The head of the Democratic Party held a meeting with the residents of Përrenjas this Friday, to whom he promised the allocation of the minimum living wage.
"We think that we should stand up and put an end to this situation as soon as possible. PD believes that an urgent intervention for the crisis is vital for Albanian citizens and this urgent intervention requires, first of all, the establishment of the orphan minimum and there should not be any Albanians who receive less than the vital minimum", he said.
The vital minimum has been promised by both sides of politics in these 3 decades, but as soon as they come to power, both sides have forgotten this promise. The essence of the subsistence minimum is to set a minimum monthly income limit for each family and individual to ensure basic food.
Setting this minimum would force governments to ensure that any payments they make, whether in the form of social assistance or pensions, do not fall below this limit. Currently, in Albania, this limit is estimated at at least 20 thousand lek per month. Under this figure are the overwhelming part of pensions and social assistance.
