Note : At the swearing-in ceremony of Muhamet Rrumbullak as General Director of the State Police, the Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi indirectly revealed that Gladis Nano was not fired for 'failing to meet objectives', as is the official reasoning given.

"Mr. All in all, today you will receive the flag of the organization, and I want to say that we respect many flags of other countries, some more and some less. At some point in history, it may happen that the flags that are respected more or less are changed, but the only flag for which we all bow, and for which many good Albanians have given their lives, including representatives of the Police The state, and for which I believe that every good Albanian is ready to give his life, is the flag with the two-headed Albanian eagle", Minister Çuçi declared.

But which flag did Gladis Nano put before the Albanian flag? Çuçi did not say the answer to this, but the close relationship of the former director of the State Police with the American Embassy and international partners was known.

Although for a short period in office, Nano became the first director of the State Police to be received in Washington by the head of the FBI, as well as in major European capitals by his counterparts.

Nano's meetings and close relations with internationals cannot be interpreted, as Minister Çuçi says, as 'disrespecting the national flag', on the contrary. The USA, Germany, Italy and other partner countries have invested millions of euros over the years for the State Police in Albania to help in efforts against criminality in general, and especially organized crime in particular.

This help makes this relationship not an option, but a duty for every police chief, but first of all for every interior minister. If Bledi Çuçi has chosen not to build an honest relationship with internationals and the reasons for this are not told, this had no reason to prevent Gladis Nano from doing the opposite.

However, Gladis Nano is not the only police officer who is "persecuted" by the Government of Edi Rama for his relations with internationals. In the past, Dritan Zagani, who denounced to the Italians that the cousins of the Minister of the Interior were running a network of hashish traffic to Italy, was sued, the court convicted him on the charge of 'deconspiracy of operations'.

But what later resulted from the investigation of the Italian side was that Zagani was right and that the former minister Saimir Tahiri, together with his cousins, are in prison today.
