A hearing is being held at the Tirana Court against 22 protestors detained on the first day of the protest, while parents and relatives are waiting outside the premises.
Klevi Metaj 's mother , journalist Brikena Metaj, is also in court . The latter said that her son was walking on the sidewalk and that a police officer shot him in the back and insulted him.
Brikena Metaj emphasized that Klevi reacted instinctively. She said that her son works at night and studies during the day.
Brikena Metaj : I actually found out about it by chance, along with my husband, from a phone call from a friend from Kleve high school, who saw it on News24.
She called me and told me that Klevi had gotten into a fight with the police and had been arrested. It was terrible news. After that, we couldn't even talk to him on the phone. The boy worked at night, and went to school during the day. We knew that the boy was at home and sleeping, after a night job.
I don't know if he was a protester. If a person breaks the law, they should be escorted in a normal way. No one can touch a person. Klevi was walking on the sidewalk, the policeman came up behind him and insulted him and the reaction was instinctive. Yes, I met him. Klevi is a calm, fair and honest guy.
He is a student, I was at the graduation ceremony just a week ago, because I have twin children. I really hope that all of this ends well, the important thing is that it ends well.
