The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements on recent developments in the country, demanding answers from him on a number of issues related to governance and state institutions.

In a long statement to the media, Bardhi focused particularly on the issue of the former director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, and her appointment as head of this institution.

Rama stated that Hyseni had received "excellent references from partners" before being appointed to head SHISH. Bardhi demanded that the prime minister make the names of these partners public.

"Come out and tell the Albanians which foreign service, which international partner suggested Vlora Hyseni with excellent references and who was surprised by SPAK's legal actions against her crimes?" said Bardhi.

He also demanded explanations about Hyseni's past in the security institutions in Kosovo and how she was selected to lead SHISH.

"Also come out and tell us, what was verified regarding her dismissal from leadership positions in the Kosovo Intelligence Service, by decision of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani? Do you have an answer, Mr. Prime Minister?", he said.

Bardhi also raised questions about the allegations related to Hysen's relationship with the person under investigation, Ergys Agasi.

"Who put Vlora Hyseni in the service of Ergys Agas? Do you have an answer, Mr. Prime Minister?", declared the head of the DP parliamentary group.

According to Bardhi, the opposition had previously raised these claims in the Assembly and parliamentary committees, while demanding to know whether the Prime Minister had ordered their verification.

"What measures has the Prime Minister taken to verify these opposition accusations? Can we have an answer, Mr. Prime Minister?", Bardhi asked.

Another part of his statement was dedicated to the way Rama has reacted to officials who have faced justice. Bardhi mentioned several cases, among them the issues of decriminalization, former minister Saimir Tahiri, healthcare concessions and incinerators.

Referring to the incinerators, Bardhi said that the opposition had previously raised allegations of irregularities and accused the prime minister of supporting the projects.

"Weren't you, Edi Rama, the guarantor that the incinerators existed, worked and burned Albanians' waste every day? Weren't you the one who signed 17 decisions within a day to pave the way for a scheme that cost Albanians 340 million euros?" declared Bardhi.

He also focused on the NAKSHI tenders and asked the Prime Minister for explanations about the accusations made public regarding this institution.

"Go out and explain to the Albanians: does Linda of AKSHI have property or does she live in a rented house, as you told us? Why are you silent now?" said Bardhi.

In his statement, the head of the DP parliamentary group also mentioned KAYO, the Port of Durres, the Llogara Tunnel and the Vlora Airport, raising questions about the method of selecting companies and partners in these projects.

"And Alabar, how did you acquire the land above the Port of Durres? By competition or by special law and by your personal selection?", asked Bardhi.

He also requested explanations for the selection of Turkish companies in the Llogara Tunnel and Vlora Airport projects.

Bardhi also spoke about the relationship between the government and the media, mentioning Rama's attacks on Syri TV and News 24.

"A responsible Prime Minister does not blackmail the media. If he is aware of a crime, he has a legal obligation to address the justice system," he declared.

According to Bardhi, criminal responsibility should be determined by justice, while the government must be held accountable for political decision-making and the way institutions function.

"Criminal responsibility is a matter of justice. Meanwhile, political responsibility is a matter of public accountability. And transparency towards citizens is an obligation of every government," he said.

At the end of the statement, Bardhi asked the prime minister to provide answers about appointments, tenders, concessions and relations between government, business and institutions.

"These are the questions that require answers. Answers to how appointments were made. Answers to how tenders and concessions were awarded. Answers to how institutions were supervised. Answers to the relationship between government and business. Answers to the relationship between government and crime," said Bardhi.

He concluded his statement by demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister.

"Edi Rama, come out and give an account," declared Bardhi, adding: "The first responsibility that falls to you, Edi Rama, is political. Resign!"
