Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji has raised questions about the simultaneous presence of Edi Rama and Sali Berisha at Rinas Airport, asking the leader of the Democratic Party to make public whether he met with the prime minister and, if so, what was discussed between them and whether Rama gave up his resignation after this conversation with Berisha.

Through a post on social networks, Salianji casts doubt on a possible meeting between Sali Berisha and Edi Rama at the 'Mother Teresa' airport today, while journalists were waiting for Rama's return from New York where he was attending the UN General Assembly and the announced conference of the head of government following the situation created in the country by the dismissal and arrest of the former head of SHISH Vlora Hyseni. But the latter canceled the conference, giving a statement without questions from journalists.

Shortly before Rama arrived in Rinas, Sali Berisha arrived at the airport, heading to Strasbourg to participate in the proceedings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

For Ervin Salianji, the airport building, specifically the VIP section of the airport, served as a place for conversation between the two politicians, so he called on Sali Berisha to make the conversation public and asked whether Rama gave up on resigning after this conversation with Berisha.

At the core of his reaction, Salianji raised concerns about an agreement between Berisha and Rama to hold the country hostage.

"Edi Rama must leave with the force of united citizens, in the squares and on the streets. Every hour more in power is one more hour of service to the capture of the state, organized crime groups and the destruction of institutions. Rama does not know the rules of democracy. Therefore, citizens must make it clear to him that power is not personal property and Albania is not anyone's hostage. But today there is also a question that requires a clear answer: Sali Berisha has a political and moral obligation to make public what was discussed with Edi Rama at the airport. What was discussed? Did Edi Rama withdraw from resigning after this conversation? Were mutual guarantees for each other's inviolability discussed? Was there any agreement to hold Albania hostage to an old political scheme? These are questions that citizens have the right to ask and that require transparency after it was the second time that "coincidentally" Rama and Berisha were found in the VIP section of the airport at the same time. Albania cannot be held hostage by secret agreements, political bargains or personal guarantees," said Salianji.
