The government's decision: From October, a 9.5% increase in pensions

After the end of the government meeting, Minister Delina Ibrahimaj announced the decisions made.

Ibrahimaj:  With this second indexation, we bring the pension increase for 2022 to the level of 9.5%.

All categories of pensioners benefit from this decision, i.e. about 678 thousand pensioners who, from the pension they will receive from the month of October, will have an increase in their pensions at the level of 9.5%.

They also took a decision regarding the increase of the minimum wage in the country. With this decision, the minimum wage will come into effect at 34,000 Lek and this is a change that affects a large number of employees. There are over 200,000 employees who benefit.

The Minister of Economy and Finance added that the government has made all decisions transparent in order to reduce budget expenditures.
