The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, showed in the show Now on Euronews Albania the measures taken by the government to cope with the energy crisis.
Balluku said that since 2019, the Albanian government has promoted the strategy of diversification of resources, with two important projects; the photovoltaic park of Karavasta and the TEC of Vlora that will work with liquid gas.
"From 2019, Albania promoted a resource diversification strategy, which was not driven by any crisis but was a government strategy through 2 successful auctions, one of which started construction; the photovoltaic park of Karavasta. The other Spitalla park is preparing to follow the same path and an important step is the Vlora TPP", said Balluku.
Balluku explained that the Vlora TPP will turn into a regional project as it will be supplied with American liquefied gas and will make it possible to bring American liquefied gas to be distributed in the region.
She said that the Vlora TPP will be operational in December 2023 and it is a project that will start producing energy only a few months after it is put into operation.
