"On June 28, INSTAT has planned to publish Censit2023 data on population and housing. Data which will give a clear overview of where the country is currently, given that the last Census was undertaken in 2011. According to INSTAT, only a small percentage of the population remained unregistered".
The census will provide an overview of the current state of the population of Albania, which includes social, economic aspects, demographic movements and data on housing, health, employment and others, which will clearly show how and where the citizens of Albania live in 2023.
And with the generation of data, the local and central government will have the opportunity to undertake concrete and better-oriented policies related to the development of the economy, businesses, the orientation of support measures as well as social and economic assistance.
On the other hand, the data will also produce a diagnosis of the problems, the real socio-economic situation and the causes of emigration, on which preventive policies can be undertaken.
This is the 12th census in the history of Albania, which comes 100 years after the first census, conducted in 1923.
