Changes in fiscal policies and property "penalize" economic freedom in

The legal system and security and property rights remain the biggest problems of economic freedom in Albania.

The Fraser Institute has updated the index of economic freedom, where Albania ranks 26th out of 165 countries surveyed.

In the criteria of Government spending, tax rate, stability of the local currency, freedom of international trade, credit regulator and business work, Albania receives a high rating.

However, legal certainty and property rights invalidate the above indicators. According to the Fraser Institute, frequent changes in tax and taxation legislation have a negative impact in this regard.

In a series of reports, the IMF, the World Bank and the business community in Albania have expressed the same criticism of the fiscal policy legislation.
