Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anila Denaj said today after the Council of Ministers meeting that 10 areas have been designated where cannabis will be planted.

Denaj said that the areas were selected based on proper studies. According to her, the list does not include areas with developed agriculture, such as the Myzeqe and Korça areas.

" This is following a legal change made 2 years ago. There are currently 10 cadastral zones that have been determined based on a study and these 10 zones are well-defined. They are throughout Albania, where the quality of the land is suitable, excluding areas with high agricultural intensity such as Myzeqeja and Korça ," said Denaj.

Denaj also announced today that the Council of Ministers approved the subsidy scheme for farmers and livestock breeders. She said that this has to do with determining the basic criteria and the amount of financing for all sectors that will be supported by the funds of the rural development program, in other words the subsidy scheme.
