The "battle" for the 2025 budget opens. Which sectors will receive

The Ministry of Finance has started work on drafting the draft budget and fiscal package for 2025, for which discussions are expected to begin in the parliamentary committees in November. Sources for SCAN TV inform that the line ministries and independent agencies are currently dealing with the relevant discussions to address the needs for the next year.

Given that the income performance during this year has been satisfactory, driven by the increase in wages and consumption, it seems that the budget distributed during 2025 for public institutions will increase in relation to this year, this is also based on the demands and needs presented but also in the priority that the government will have.

Referring to the government's medium-term budget, for the year 2025, an increase in funding for the health sector is foreseen, with nearly 3.6 billion ALL. Also, a significant increase is foreseen for the education budget, accommodating the salary increase which became effective in July of this year, which will exceed the budget by nearly 8.5 billion ALL.

Priority will also be given during the next year to investments mainly in road infrastructure and maritime transport, for started projects or for the financing of new projects, where the budget for the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is expected to increase by 12.5 billion lek compared to the initial budget. of this year.

On the other hand, regardless of the contribution it makes to employment and the economy, it seems that agriculture will still be treated as in 2024, with a budget that remains more or less at the same levels, at around 14.2 billion ALL. The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Tourism will also be at the same budget levels, while the Ministry of the Interior will have an increase of about 1.5 billion alleks and the Ministry of Defense of 2.7 billion alleks, maintaining the limit of budget expenditures. at the level of 2% of GDP.

From the figures provided in the medium-term budget document, there may be small movements depending on the requirements, but the approach will be the same.
