The Board of the Energy Regulatory Entity (ERE) met this Friday, approving the increase in the price of electricity for consumption over 800 kw/h for families and businesses.

Thus, starting from October 1, the price for consumption over 800 KWH/month for family consumers will be ALL 34.3/kwh.

According to a representative of FSHU, "this change in the price increase for the amount over 800 kw/h will increase the costs of purchasing energy in the period October-December 2022 by 1.8 billion ALL".

"Based on the need for income due to the increase in the cost of energy, we estimate that the price to be 42 lek per kwh for family consumption over 800 kwh per month recovers the cost of purchasing energy by providing the necessary liquidity for FSHU, to guarantee the supply with electricity.

It is necessary that the period of periodic reading of the meter must be carried out respecting the deadline of 30 calendar days for end customers, in order to protect each family customer from any possible bad billing. For all of the above, we request the approval of the price of 42 lek per kwh hour for the consumption over 800 kwh", said the FSHU representative.

According to an ERE expert, for a family consumer who will consume 850 kwh hours during October, the electricity bill he will have to pay will be 11,740 ALL.

"800 kwh would be billed at 9.5 Lek kwh, which gives a cost of 7,600 Lek.

50 kwh hours over the consumption of 800 kw/h would be calculated at the cost of 42 Lek and gives 2100 Lek.

Plus VAT on these two costs, 1940 ALL, plus TV tax 100 ALL. Total 11,740 ALL". he said.
