The drafting of the detailed project for the elimination of 7 black spots, which are the source of accidents on the road, will cost 83 million ALL. The Albanian Road Authority has announced the winner of the merger of 2 companies "Almo Konstruksion" and "Deltarex", which will have to prepare the document, which will then serve for the interventions in some road axes.

ARRSH bases the information on the data of the General Directorate of the State Police and on the accident database with the highest number of fatalities and serious injuries.

Based on this information, a list of the most problematic points, which require immediate intervention for their elimination, has been drawn up. The identified intersections are located in the segment Lezhë - Shkodër, Shkodër - Hani i Hotit, Rrogozhinë - Elbasan and Pogradec - Korçë.

Meanwhile, referring to the tender documents, the consultant must present the final project, after conducting full investigations with sufficient details so that the intervention in these road axes does not need further intervention.

According to the Institute of Statistics, in the period January-December 2023, there were 961 road accidents or 0.7% fewer accidents compared to the same period a year ago, where 968 accidents were recorded. In 10 months of this year, 1,319 people were involved in accidents.
