Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said this evening on "Opinion" that he has been working all summer to mobilize people for protest with the aim of supporting young people and citizens who are demanding the overthrow of Prime Minister Edi Rama's government.
According to him, the DP has been a participant in the 'Flamingove' protests, while there have been cases when citizens have demanded the removal of opposition MPs in order to prevent the cause from turning into a political issue.
"Protests are my passion. I have held meetings every day and have not taken a single day off during the summer, mobilizing people to lead them to protest. With full respect for the citizens and young people who had risen in the most beautiful and magnificent way, I had the greatest admiration. If they were to overthrow Edi Rama, I would feel the greatest satisfaction, because I am a patriot. The Prime Minister belongs to those who overthrow the government. I have never worked for a protest as much as for the one of Flamengo ", said Berisha.
The DP leader also spoke about the student protests, declaring that he has made a "silent peace" with those who do not support the opposition "for the common good."
Berisha said that he personally will not participate in any of the protests organized in support of the students, so as not to turn it into politics.
"The most dangerous enemy is the one who turns his back. Those who shout slogans against us are our enemies. In this battle, the enemy of my enemy is my ally. With students, it's a different story.
"I didn't go and I won't go, because it's a student protest and the DP stands in their support. As soon as I show up, for some reason, that protest takes on the connotation of Sali Berisha. We are inside the protest. There are hundreds of young people from the FRPD and GRUD ," Berisha said.
