Plarent Ndreca, Erion Veliaj's lawyer, spoke again this evening about the clash between the mayor of Tirana and Prime Minister Edi Rama. Ndreca said that they are also evaluating the possibility of filing a complaint against the Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu.
"We are evaluating it. We have not yet reached a conclusion," said Ndreca during an interview on Arjan Can's Zonë e Lirë show.
According to Veliaj's lawyer, Gogu violated the law by going to prison to meet a defendant and staying with him for an hour and a half in the prison director's office.
Asked if there was a possibility that the Veliaj-Gogu conversation was recorded, Ndreca gave this answer.
"I have no idea. It would be great if it was recorded. The only possibility that the conversation was recorded is if the prison administration or Mr. Gogu recorded it."
"I don't have that proof yet, maybe he does," Ndreca declared, excluding Erion Veliaj's registration.
Following the interview, Veliaj's lawyer said that he is not afraid of the threats or pressure that Edi Rama has put on him.
"I have no fear because I am very clear about what I have done and what I have not done. I do not feel fear. The conversations are part of a communication that is not normal for the Prime Minister of a country," said Ndreca.
He further explained that for two months Erion Veliaj has been moving around in prison on crutches after injuring his leg playing football while he was still in detention in Durrës.
