The Institute of Construction has come to the conclusion that from the expertise done on the building that burned down in the area of ​​the former Park in Tirana, the fire caused damage to the columns, not only to the facade.

According to experts, the building is uninhabitable and dangerous for the lives of the residents.

"The structure of the building in its existing state after exposure to the fire does not meet the safety and stability conditions for the maximum static or dynamic loads anticipated. The damages are local, but they can influence the entire building thanks to the "domino" phenomenon", says the expertise.

The structure must undergo restoration and strengthening of structural elements, otherwise the building is considered dangerous for human life and unusable, according to expertise.

"The structure must be subjected to the restoration and reinforcement of structural elements, beams, slabs or even columns, only in the damaged area based on a very detailed structural reinforcement project for the relevant object, based on the fire damage of September 14 2023. Until the moment of restoration, the building is considered dangerous for people's lives and unusable", says the expertise.

The incident happened in the afternoon of September 14, while the police referred to the prosecution the criminal file for the fire that destroyed 4 apartments, damaged 12 others and destroyed the facade of the building.

The flames first appeared on the 9th floor, on the south side of the building, but due to the easily combustible material of the facade, in a few minutes the fire spread to the northern facade, ending on the 6th floor, where it was completely burnt several apartments.
