Firefighting aircraft

Greece has helped us again regarding the fire situation in our country. From the neighboring country, two "firefighting" planes have been sent to Albania to put out the flames on the mountain of Çika.

The news was announced by the delegation of the European Union in Albania through a post on social networks.

The help from Greece came after Albania's request through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The situation on the mountain of Chika was getting worse and the flames are approaching the tourist village of Dhërmi.

"Two firefighting planes from Greece are already on their way to Albania to put out the fires on Mount Chika. The support comes after a request for help from Albania through the #EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Always there in times of need! #Togethermore strong" is written in the post.

We recall that Greece sent a plane to put out the flames on the island of Sazan some time ago.
