A large fire engulfed the used clothing market in the 5 Maji neighborhood in Tirana this evening. Initially, the flames burned a silo and then spread massively.
Fortunately, no one was injured, but the material damage is considerable.
Dozens of firefighting forces from Tirana, Elbasan, Vora and the army have been called in to bring the flames under control.
The situation remains difficult due to the large size of the fire and the easily flammable materials and electrical cables. Electricity in the area has been cut off for the safety of residents.
Firefighters and police are at the scene, trying to bring the fires under control.
There are suspicions that there are gas cylinders near the flames, as they are used for heating by merchants.
Therefore, the perimeter has been expanded by the police.
