In an interview on "Çim Peka LIVE" on SYRI TV, former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj made strong accusations against Edi Rama, whom he described as "the head of a criminal organization."
Ahmetaj said that Albania is today in the hands of organized crime, cartels, the head of the mafia organization Rama and 15 oligarchs.
The former number two in the government said that the personal and tax data of Albanians would have ended up in the hands of organized crime, as some of them have.
"I was threatened last October with a number that is either from Myanmar or Venezuela. The message says death threats. These three messages are with the Swiss authorities and beyond. They are not simple numbers. Woe to anyone who approaches my family, I no longer do this just for myself. Today Albania is in the hands of cartels, organized crime, the head of the organization and 15 oligarchs. I have fought as hard as I could to turn Albania into a drug-trafficking republic. The police dome is involved. The personal data of Albanians is an asset that would have ended up in the hands of crime and cartels if I had accepted the proposal that the Tax data be transferred to the AKSH.
I have the files here, and the letters. I have fought as hard as I could to turn Albania into a drug-trafficking republic since 2014, since 2015. Look at what happened to the ANA. Imagine if I had agreed to leave the VAT project, the value-added tax, in the hands of private individuals who we don't know who they would be, but as the facts show, some of them are directly linked to crime. All taxpayer data, such as personal data.
You know Mr. Peka what wealth people have in Albania, besides the house, I'm not going into it. It's the data. What does Albania have? Does it have gold, does it have uranium? It's personal data. Personal data is handed over to organized crime. The police dome is involved, the police dome, I'm not talking about the ordinary police. It's involved. So, have they put their hands in TIMS? So, has one of the biggest cybersecurity tenders, a company accused of being a criminal organization, a person. Yes, were these personal data used during the elections? Yes. They were used", said Ahmetaj.
