The Romanian media is investigating dozens of Romanian ghost companies, which are suspected of defrauding the Romanian state by profiting millions of euros through VAT. It is suspected that these fictitious companies are in the name of some Albanians, who are suspected to be in Lezhë.
Romanian journalist Kozmin Savu has arrived in Lezha. Residents either don't know anything, or are afraid to speak. However, in both cases, it seems clear that the Albanians were used by other people, who are also the real beneficiaries, a scheme set up to hide the tracks.
Journalist Savu says that he came to Albania in search of this network that benefited from the weakness of the Romanian state, leaving a lot of money missing in the Romanian state budget. It is suspected that this network also had the support of high Romanian officials.
Savu says that they have searched for companies suspected of not paying taxes, laundering money from crime, or simply defrauding companies, banks or other private companies. According to this investigative journalist, these ghost companies were then put in the name of Albanians so that the main beneficiaries would lose track.
In the documents that Savu investigated, he says that more than 60 companies were found in the name of Albanians and the way this group works shows that there are many more companies. In countless documents of fictitious companies, the team of the Romanian show managed to discover at least 26 Albanian citizens who turn out to be owners. They have become owners and administrators of companies with a dubious history in Romania.
He arrives in Kallmet i Madh, where he meets Zefin, one of the owners of the Romanian company.

The journalist says that Zefi is inside the scheme, he knows what happened, or how his name was used, but he is afraid to tell.

His signatures appear on contracts including 2009. The companies he was associated with won construction works in Kalarashi worth over 50 million euros, from the PNDL1 program alone. After Dumitrescu becomes a senator, the former colleague sells the companies of the Albanians of Lezha. Many of the companies with the name of Albanians are related to the family of the chairman of the Prahova District Council", concludes the Romanian investigative show
