It is about a cocaine processing laboratory, a drug that was brought from contaminated Latin America and processed in Albania, thus becoming ready for the European market. In addition to the laboratory in Qereka, the criminal group also had other premises located in Tirana and Durrës, to help this whole enterprise.
Among the evidence seized by law enforcement authorities are 6.1 kilograms of cocaine. Like 48 tons of raw organic material suspected of hiding cocaine
The operation was considered by the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Altin Dumani, as a key moment in the fight against organized crime in Albania.
"This investigation is clear evidence that SPAK is committed to pursuing and attacking criminal networks that threaten security and justice in our country. The success of this criminal proceeding so far shows that international cooperation and internal expertise are the key to concrete results ", said Dumani.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor of the case, Adnan Xholi, emphasized the importance of using special investigative tools in uncovering this network.
"This investigation has shown us a new and complex pattern of international drug trafficking, where foreign expertise combines with local elements to set up an integrated criminal system. Taking down this network is a strong signal to all those who think they can operate with impunity."
