A serious event that happened in a family in Gjirokastër has shocked public opinion. Leonidha Peçi, 82 years old, beat his 80-year-old wife Afroviti Peçi to death with a stick.

According to Klan News sources, the elderly couple had been arguing with each other for 2 years while adding that earlier, his wife had reported him to the police for violence.

According to reports, the 82-year-old man felt bad in the premises of the Gjirokastra Police Station and suffered a heart attack. The elderly man was sent to Tirana for more specialized treatment.

" For 2 years, the 82-year-old man had shown violence against his wife. According to the residents, this is said to have come as a result of the loss of life of one of the daughters of the elderly couple.

The couple has been having these frequent arguments for 2 years. Until yesterday, the 82-year-old had inflicted terrible violence on his wife, hitting her several times with a stick. A report was made to the police and then he was released on bail for domestic violence.

Despite reporting violence, the couple lived together in an apartment and from time to time, the violence continued to escalate. Meanwhile, the 82-year-old man was escorted yesterday morning to the premises of the Gjirokastra Police Station, but a few hours later he felt bad and asked to be sent to the hospital.
