Murder of 41-year-old Altin Arapaj, three accused remain in prison, Mikel

After a marathon defense that lasted almost 11 hours, the three defendants accused of the murder of 41-year-old Altin Arapaj in Rafina last Thursday were remanded in custody. 46-year-old Mikel Selimaj faces the charge of “Intentional Murder”, while the other two face the charge of “Aiding and abetting murder”.

The case turned into a thriller after the victim, after being shot in the cheek by 46-year-old Mikel Selimaj, called his partner begging for help.
"Help me, Keli shot me... in the head. I'm dying. Find me because I don't know where I am," were his last words.

The 46-year-old, whose name was revealed by the victim, now claims that he does not know whether 41-year-old Altin Arapaj ultimately died from the bullet he received, as he said he was found 130 meters from the scene. In his apology, made public by "Zungla", he stated:

“I did not commit the acts I am accused of. In fact, I am a drug addict and when the incident occurred, both I and the deceased were under the influence of drugs. In fact, two days ago, we were using cocaine together and while the victim insisted on not returning to his home, I encouraged him to return to his partner and children. The case has nothing to do with settling scores or drug trafficking, which could lead to such an act. Furthermore, the weapon of the crime was not mine, but the victim’s, who for some inexplicable reason made a move to use it and, while I was trying to defend myself and disarm him, it went off and the bullet hit him in the cheek. After the shooting, the victim spoke to his wife. We have been friends with the victim for twenty years, we used cocaine together, and I have also helped him with his personal affairs, specifically with the problems that two car salesmen had caused him, which were not "They were giving him the cars, and I intervened so they wouldn't extort the money," he said.

The defendant insists that the victim walked another 130 meters from the scene and is now seeking the forensic report to determine the exact cause of death.
