Dritan Dajti, accused of killing 4 policemen in Durrës, asks to be released.

By means of a letter, he requests to be released from prison as he claims to have completed his 25-year prison sentence.

Through his lawyer, Dajti addressed the Court saying that yesterday, July 4, he completed his sentence of 25 years in prison, but that according to the request, the Director of the Prison has not yet started the procedures for his release.

"On July 4, 2024, the convict Dritan Dajti and the lawyer chosen by him, Mr. Alban Kapxhiu, asked the Director of IEVP Peqin to issue the order for the release procedure, because at midnight on July 4, 2024 , he was sentenced to 25 years in prison," the request states, among other things.

In 2020, the court of Elbasan decided to combine the sentences of 25 and 23 years into a single sentence and imposed 25 years of imprisonment for the defendant Dritan Dajti.
