The tourist city of Vlora has no water during these holidays.

For the past 48 hours, the coastal city of Vlora has been facing an emergency situation in its drinking water supply.

A defect in the main transmission line has left thousands of residents without water, significantly hampering daily life and the functioning of institutions.

But what happened?

An intervention undertaken two days ago to repair a minor defect in the water supply network has turned into a serious breakdown, significantly worsening the water supply situation in the city.

According to information, just a few hours after the intervention, the entire pipeline burst, completely disabling the supply line.

The intervention, which was supposed to solve the problem, has brought even more serious consequences for citizens.

From a conversation between the Mayor and the Director of the Water Supply, made public through an audio recording, it is learned that the necessary part for the repair is being sought in Thessaloniki, but has not yet been secured.

This has increased uncertainty about the restoration of water supply.

Sources indicate that there will be no water either today or tomorrow, and it is not ruled out that the outage will last throughout the week.

This has led the people of Vlorë to turn to the city's drinking water sources.

Dozens of Vlora citizens are waiting in line one after another to fill up water at the city's fountains because they don't have water in their homes./syri
