Fires continue to burn in several villages in the Himara municipality. At this moment, there is a large fire in the village of Sasaj, three fires in Lukovë and one fire in Shën Vasil.
Throughout the night, there was a severe situation in these areas due to the wind, which favored the fire from spreading towards residential areas.
Yesterday evening, the residents of the village of Sasaj were evacuated, where 50 residents stayed in the center of the village after the flames approached their homes.
Meanwhile, the fire coming from the area connecting the villages of Delvina and Himara has made Lukova and Shën Vasil dangerous.
Numerous firefighting forces, police, FNSH, and civil emergencies have been on the ground for more than 60 hours as the fire rekindles every time the wind picks up.
The fire in Lukovë is still active this morning, and is being kept under control, while helicopters are expected to arrive to drop water to extinguish the flames.
