Died during the underwater expedition in Saranda, the parents of the British

George and Gill Gannon from Britain have told how they learned of the sad news that their 29-year-old daughter Rebecca had died in Saranda while diving.

They say they learned the news while watching Queen Elizabeth's funeral on television, when they were taken by police to announce their daughter's death. They say that their daughter was very good and that she had never broken any law in her life.

"She was a fit girl. She didn't drink or smoke or do anything bad, we're all broken. The last time I saw her was on Friday, a week ago, when she left her dog with us", they say.

The girl's father says he is convinced the instructor tried to revive her, but nothing could be done to save her. According to the family, Rebecca and her boyfriend had a mission to visit 50 countries before turning 30, but it was cut short.

Beccie, as her family called her, and her boyfriend Robert had been at the Spiranca diving center near the city of Saranda, in Albania. They were reportedly planning to dive the wreck of an Italian cargo ship, the Probitas, which is just offshore, but Rebecca did not survive the dive. She drowned on September 19, as the Court of Saranda has decided to prosecute Saimir Kushova, the owner of Saranda Diving Center, on bail of 1.5 million new lek.
