The statue of the famous singer Tina Turner on the "Taulantia" promenade in Durrës has been removed from its place. This statue was placed together with John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan to give the idea of freedom to the youth of the 80s which culminated in the famous exodus towards the western countries.
As can be seen in the photo, today the statue of Tina Turner has only her shoes left. Among the bronze "friends and friends" that decorated the building, the queen of "Rock 'n' Roll" is missing.
How it became possible to uproot this statue is still unclear, while a reaction from the authorities is awaited.
This statue, as well as the other 3 stars of the 80s, are the works of the authors Qazim Kërtusha, Ilmi Kasemi, Arben Pajo and Dylber Neziri. Citizens and vacationers, not only contemplate these sculptures, but also pose with them as they are the height of a man and create approaches because they are located directly in the square and not on platforms or high pedestals as they usually are.
