Not long after the decision of the USA to extradite to Albania a wanted man for double murder, sentenced by a final decision to 23 years in prison, the court of the capital has decided to return the case for a retrial. The reopening of the judicial examination the evidence against the former policeman will be reviewed from the beginning for a crime that took place during 1997 and since then for the following decades he managed to remain hidden.

Former policeman Tomor Çela was handed over to Albania in the summer to serve his sentence for the intentional murder of Elton Dan and Ledian Hoxha.

But the court of the capital, through this decision that TCH has, has once again returned the process to zero, judging that the 56-year-old was not aware of the process that was being held. On February 10, 2014, Çela signed a letter from Pennsylvania, appointing the people who would protect his interests.

He passed the powers to his mother-in-law, the court argues. But, for the judiciary in Albania, the document signed by an American notary was not clear because there is no mention of the defense with a lawyer. He was retried once more.

In the first session of the retrial, the family members of the victims were present and in front of them was the accused for the murder of the young people.

Tomor Çela was a policeman in the capital and five months after he was removed from duty with a Kalashnikov weapon that belonged to the service and that he had not surrendered, he committed the crime in an ongoing debate. Witnesses have said in the process that the fight had started three days before the crime over two thousand new lek, which should be paid for a damaged vehicle door.
