Artan Zylyftari, convicted by SPAK for cultivating narcotic plants, has died today from a cardiac arrest in the prison premises.

The 31-year-old man reportedly felt unwell during midday and the room detainees alerted the police officer on duty to Zylyftar's health concerns.

He was given first aid at the nursing facilities and then he was escorted to QSUT but could not survive.

We recall that Zylyftari was detained during operation "Spirit", which took place two years ago, in July 2, where several criminal groups were hit.

The investigation of Italian authorities for five years led to 5 people being arrested. At the time, 38 million euros of assets were seized.

General Directorate of Prisons, announces that on 28.10.2023, around 16.20 in central reanimation of QSUT has died with cardiac arrest, citizen Artan Luan Zylilitari, born 17.04.1992, born and residing in Skrapar.

Therefore, the citizen Artan Luan Zylifa was taken the security measure of arrest by prison by decision No.45, dated 30.06.2021 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, suspected of the criminal offenses provided by the article; No. 284/1, 333/a and 334 of the Penal Code (cultivation of narcotic plants in cooperation) established in Sector 1, building B of IEVP Jordan Misja", from 05.07.2021.

On 28.10.2023, at around 15.12, the security worker on duty, is notified by the detainees of the chamber for the health concerns of citizen Zyliftari. Immediately, health staff appeared on duty and made efforts to provide first aid in nursing settings.

At 15.28, the patient was accompanied to QSUT, Pavilion Cardiology. Despite the intervention of the specialized staff at QSUT, at 16.20, the patient made exitus letalus (death) from cardiac arrest.

The patient, during his stay at the Institution for execution of criminal decisions, is regularly checked and all medical visits and therapies are administered in the health card no. 3350 of this patient. The patient has been treated for hypertension according to approved protocols and his health condition has been stable.

The Directorate of IEV Jordan Misja has carried out all the legal procedures provided, notifying the structures of the State Police, prosecution and family members.

On this occasion, the General Directorate of Prisons expresses condolences to the families of the late.
