A 42-year-old Albanian man has been handcuffed by Italian authorities after trying to strance his wife following a dispute over jealousy. According to Italian media reports, when he realized he was not breathing, he called for help.

The woman, in critical condition, was admitted to the San Paolo hospital in Savona and is out of danger but under the supervision of medical staff. The incident happened last night in a house in the city centre, where the police intervened to revive the woman who remained the victim of an attempted drowning by her husband.

After arriving at the scene, the officers found the victim's husband, a 42-year-old albanian-born but resident for years in the town of Torretta, who had already confessed to trying to strange his 31-year-old wife and that he stopped only when he realized the woman was no longer breathing.

It all started when the 42-year-old Albanian heard his wife talking on the phone with someone and under the thres of jealousy, he tried to kill her with his hands. The victim lost consciousness and the frightened husband had requested the intervention of the medical staff, no matter the weight of his action.

The whole thing happened when the kids were at home sleeping in their bedroom. The man was later transferred to prison and will have to answer for the remaining attempted murder offense.
